The sun don’t shine on the east coast.
Thunder reigns,
cracking its grounded whip,
listen closely.
Smelling rain through windows is like believing in magic.

28/30

My body is plagued with need.
So long have I been denied,
wracked with longing,
crazed with desire.
At this point anything goes,
I want a milkshake.

Rarely have I felt so out of control.
So unable to keep track of the days passing,
I am lost to myself;
to the world,
to my love,
to all I hold dear,
I am lost.
Time washes over me,
a freezing river in which I cannot swim.
Forced to watch the changes around me while I drown.
I fall endlessly through events I am unaware of.
Unfeeling
Unchanging
Alone.

26/30 (sorryyyyy these are mad late)

There was once a girl who did theatre.
Her form was so good, you should see her!
But this play’s got her stuck
and she’s shit out of luck.
She’s not sane at this point, don’t believe her.

I covered my soul with sealing wax and marked it with your seal.
I won’t need it if I’m tucked into you,
keep it somewhere safe,
where we can open it again
when we grow too much for just one person.

Jake. the poem is about how we were dressed for prom. -.-

Veiled in Pink

My cheeks were pink…artificially,
dressed pink with roses.
Pink eye not an option, we were there.
You looked perfect in pink,
perfectly pink,
perfect.

Happy Mother’s Day

I should thank you,
no one else could have taught me every valuable lesson
you’ve managed to.

No one could have shown me that I
am more important
than anyone else is.
That self love is more valuable
than love from other people.

I only look out for me now mommy,
because you were right when you made it clear
that life isn’t something you share.
You live the way you want,
we are merely stepping stones.
This is what I have learned from you.

Family is just what you use to climb to your downfall.

How interesting it would be
to be blessed with patience,
not the twisting, bouncing, get-up-and-go
I’ve been given.
